What is the def. of a proof mark or rather I should say mark that looks like the letter 'Y' with a small 5-point star directly above it?
On this particular double that mark is located between the squiggle for voluntary preliminary proof of unfinished bbl.'s and the Lion over PV. It is found on both the bbl's. and the action flat in that same order.
Any help forthcoming appreciated. I'm not finding that particular mark in my ref material. The 'Y' is a capital letter 'Y' with longish horizontal flats on the arms and base of the letter, so that it nearly resembles a martini glass w/a short stem. The 5-pointed star is unremarkable & less wide than the 'Y'.
