I did a bit of surfing and found the image below. I am convinced it's what I am seeing. Sorry for the tiny pic...image source => http://germanhuntingguns.com/Sections/Page.asp?SSID=580&NRID=16 About 2/3's the way down the page. The sight is unmarked on all visible surfaces.
