Just to add to the mix, I second the kerosene lamp usage. Another option is taking Rig Universal Grease and add chalk line chalk. Obviously a little messy, but you have a couple color choices, I like the blue. My thought has always been to put a thin coat of spray adhesive on the metal part and then using a plastic bottle, like a magnum eye dropper, and spray the chalk powder onto the adhesive and then fit the metal to the wood. I thought of it as I use the chalk dust in a squeeze bottle to check air movement when bow hunting. Might just work. Randy
