Last year I was doing an estimate for someone near where my hunting club leases land for pheasant hunting. When I mentioned this to the client he told me that his father had hunted but he never really got into. As a matter of fact, he said, I have some of Dads old guns I keep meaning to do something with. So much for home improvement now I'm in gun mode with all kinds of "I found this '57 corvette in a barn" stories running through my head. After pulling out a few ratty pumps and an old .22 the treasure came out. An L.C. 12 ga. Ideal grade, the serial# puts at 1924. The gun had been restored 20 years ago and unfortunately the reciever was blued in the process. Other than that the gun was very nice. I asked the big question, how much? And he said I dunno $300 sound fair. I use it as my main pheasant gun and just love when somebody says nice gun where you get it.
