Hammer guns are cool again so prices for good guns are way up. Ten years ago they were dogs. Just like 16 ga. Sterlingworths were everywher for 500 bucks now parts guns bring more than that. As to Cabellas gun room prices, asking is not selling price unless you are desperate. I looked at a Remington 1894 that was priced about twice the max price it was worth. It still remains for sale almost three years later. No reason to expect it to sell at that price for many more years. My God, it has those Damascus barrels which everyone know ar dangerous.
If you really want to look for a long time, find a good 20 ga. hammer gun with Damascus barrels, in something other than a child's stock, for anything like a reasonable in price.
