jdw: the dollar bill test is of little value. a visual inspection is far better. plus, placing anything between the barrels and the action face and then closing the gun, puts unnecessary stress on the hinge pin...some high end guns are so finely fit that stressing the action with foreign objects inserted in the action of the gun can contribute to the degrading of the otherwise fine fit of some best guns.
