Do they have a FFL so that they could accept a receiver for welding?

has anyone had experience with refinshing steel barrels after pits have been laser filled? Does the different compositions of the steel affect the rust bluing process in terms of color? I have a steel barrel with many pits and would like them laser welded and refinished.

Thanks,

John

The barrel work is pretty amazing, but we still have to wait and see how the spot takes blue compared to the rest of the gun. I was just reading an old thread on the Parker site about the same kind of work. The fellow had specified that "c 1045 or similar mild carbon steel" be used to allow uniform blue, and the results were impressive.

Disclaimer- When it comes to welding, I don't have a clue what I'm talking about.

That being said, I had someone describe to me that he was able to weld up some drilled holes in the top of a Winchester 52B sporter by making welding rod out of an old damaged receiver. The fix was indistinguishable when finished. Is that possible? This was about 20-25 years ago.
