I have recently acquired a 1973 Browning Citori that the top lever is left of center when the action is closed. What parts wear that cause this condition on the Citori?
The gun is about 95% Wood and Blueing. It doesn't look like the gun has seen enough usage to cause this condition under normal circumstances.
I want to keep the gun as it is choked IC and Skeet and fits me well.

The likely part to wear is the locking bolt. However, what's important is whether or not the gun still locks up tight or not. With the gun closed and the forearm removed, hold it vertically by the barrels and shake it. If it rattles, the bolt should be replaced. If not, ignore the lever position and enjoy your very good gun.
