When a wrist breaks up that close to the action, it is hard to get a good repair.
Not necessarily harder Brian,the repair from the pic look's to have just been chemical (glue /epoxy) by rights it should have been a combination of chemical and mechanical ie; rods ,fillets etc,there are a dozen different ways to do this ... it should not have broken again through normal use .
I'f I were the OP ,I would not toss the original wood ,it can be fixed.
New stock is nice by the way ,great looking gun and thanks for posting
