Finally my Xmas project is almost complete. The security of the case is you have to break into my house, get past 2 dogs, break into my gun room, get into the case and then get the gun out of the case. It is the last part I haven't worked out yet. There are two 5/8 OD / 3/8 ID tubes of 10" and 28" welded to a hinge that is bolted to the case, that fit down the barrels of the gun. The idea is to put a locking device in the 28" tube that expands in the chamber so you have to break the gun to lock and unlock the device. It is the device that is the sticking point. I've tried the friction mechanisms found in trekking poles but they wouldn't stick. I've researched expanding anchors, nuts, etc. but can't seem to get something that really works. Would like to hear some creative ideas other members might have.
