I like the idea of something like a snapcap that properly fits the chamber being able to be screwed onto the threaded end of the rod. The rods need to be adjustable for length for that to work unless your entire collection is now and always will have the same length of barrels. LOL
Are you at all worried about marring the bores as you slide them on and off?
I've given lots of thought to the trigger guard idea but have come down on the side of, spending all that time/money to have the custom case built, I want to see the whole gun in uninterrupted profile.
edit to add. Those locking caps that Lagopus linked to...I got something similar from Browning when I bought my Citori 10 years ago.
