Both Jim and I are correct,
you just send him a copy of the application/renewal,I have had one for over 10 years and never had an issue.
I drop it off as this is a small town and we all know each other (both CLOE's I deal with are great guys BTW and don't bother me).
You send a copy to the CLOE,there is NO action required on his part,he just files it.
I would NEVER pay 30-40 for a transfer but that just me,its nice to be able to have the guns shipped direct without a dealer getting in the middle,no need for a 01 dealer if all you collect are 50yr old or older guns.
Go for it,you will be happy you did and be buying more then 1 or 2 a year I bet !
