I do not see that name in the NY Gunmakers books. Sellers lists a Sylvester A. Van Horn [sic] in Oneida , 1856-67.Percussion rifles and Shotguns.

Swinney lists the Sellers noted Van Horn on about 1 3/4 Pages . He died in 1878. Possibly some connection to Earl Loomis and sharing gunmaking help. There are a couple of rifled guns observed.
