I have a very nice speed bag that I got in the UK 25 years ago but still use my Medic's aid bag brought back in 1966 ..... mine is pached and dirty but unless we are playing "dress up" it goes any where I go with a shotgun ..... but mine still has remnents of a red cross and other smudges.

This link talks about the gas mask bag that Indiana Jones carried. It was a British bag that had not yet been made when the movie was to have taken place. The bag was a common sight in London during World War II, but was not yet designed when the movies took place in the 30's.
