I apologize for my comment. I was sure I recognized the picture from the Las Vegas incident.

the earlier "retraction" was even worse. perhaps we should do our homework before opining on someone's business character and practices. this site does have a search feature. when used, the business in question only appears in this thread. Better still, we could resist the urge entirely to offer opinions except on those that we have had first-hand experience with. though I know it will do nothing towards reducing the practice but I put little value in these opinions posted here.

That's a good one.

If you read my earlier comment I think even someone as judgmental as you would see that it didn't opine anything about someone's business character and practice. Again, I offered no opinion.

Why was the screw moved on the trigger guard? You can see where where the original screw was filled in and the second one was placed in the middle of the serial number. It is not a poorly done repair but it could have been better. Several screws look to been replaced but the over all condition of the gun looks to be very good. I'd rather a bugger screw than one which is mismatched and not engraved. But perhaps the plan was to get them engraved later and it just never got done.

Your post was in response to Chiefshotguns' now retracted post which offered a derogatory but now shown to be a baseless opinion of the gun's seller. Any reasonable read of this thread would 'judge' your post to be supportive of that opinion - i.e. your 'opinion' was that Chiefshotguns is right, there was some bad stuff about this seller on this site. Seems like you both stepped in it trying to act like you had some real insight into this poster's situation and were willing to trash someone's reputation to show it. It now seems you were wrong and you two followed it up with a lame retraction, a lame apology, and now a lame rationalization of your post. If you want to now call me judgmental for calling for users of this site to exercise care and restraint when "warning" us about shady sellers, I'll take that criticism - without apology.

Yikes, about everything I See on that gun makes me nervous. Lots of alterations going on imo.

I had one experience with GBS a few years ago that will likely cause me to never bid on one of their GB auctions. They were selling a graded LC Smith as I recall. The gun was reasonably priced and thoroughly photographed, except for the front half of the foreend. So I requested a photo of it, which they did provide. That's when it became apparent why the front portion of the foreend was not pictured...the ebony wedge inlay was completely missing and the notch crudely filled in with puddy! No mention of that small defect in the otherwise detailed description.
