Tony-I have the exact same gun with a serial number of 3667x. Only mine is a 20 gauge. It has the same AP marking but I've yet to determine who the maker is for sure. You are correct. These are not your typical shotgun that everyone envisions when you say it's an "El Faisan".
I admit some mild jealousy, The only thing that would make me like this gun more would be if it was a 20 instead.
I suspect this gun was built for the european market, based on the sling swivels. But it's got a nice splinter for end and english stock. I think the gun has suffered more wear and damage being put into and taken out of safes over the years than it has in the field.
