Not the right choice for every gun, but in the case of a sidelock, it would be 10-20% the cost of a full restocking job. I had a replacement done on sidelock where the cost of restocking would have been nearly what I paid for the gun - the butt replacement is undetectable and has made the gun very shootable for me.
