Am I correct in assuming that restocking a back-action lock might cost a bit more because of the extra inletting required for the mainspring, as compared to a bar action?
In any event, if this inquiry is a real-life situation, you may also want to consider replacing the butt as an alternative. Not the right choice for every gun, but in the case of a sidelock, it would be 10-20% the cost of a full restocking job. I had a replacement done on sidelock where the cost of restocking would have been nearly what I paid for the gun - the butt replacement is undetectable and has made the gun very shootable for me.
