If the gun is worth restocking at all you better never get tired of it because will be a money pit of vast proportions. For the sake of argument lets say the gun is worth ten grand. The job will set you back 3500 plus, plus blank. Nobody drops that type of money into a plain blank so figure a real top notch blank will set you back another grand or more.

If you paid ten grand for the gun and then invested another 4500 into restocking it you loose anytime you sell it over the next 20 years. If the gun was worth five grand it might take you twice that time to recover your investment. Look into a repair and if that is not an option have it butt grafted. More than one way to skin a cat or in this case fix a stock.
