The factory rib is integral to the barrel. Thats how you can tell if the rib is original or not. Ive seen a lot of them with Simmons ribs. The first guns had double triggers but Remington offered conversions to the single trigger. I have some introductory literature from Remington and it said the single trigger wasnt ready but would be soon. I have #838 TC with 32 inch barrels and I love it. My little bro has 2 or 3 Skeet guns with mutiple barrel sets. I think they are Kreigoff barrels. Its the only O/U gun I will allow in with my Doubles.(I would consider a twin single Superposed but only because of the cool trigger mechanism) Ross
