Rip the breast skin and feathers to expose the breast.
Take a curved blade knife and cut ea side of the meat off
the bone takes about 5 seconds per bird no guts to deal with.

Wrong to shoot birds during nesting period, even if they are a "non-game" species. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Disagree with doing this. They aren't vermin.
