i very recently acquired a superb 1889 Mfg. Parker DH 12. The interesting twist to,the story is that the gun arrived ensconced in a period soft leg o mutton style case, with the Baker Gun Company logo prominently embossed on the side of the case. Following with a couple of pics! Im grateful, as on of the guns in my collection is an A grade straight stock, damascus 12 Baker.
Anyone else seen such an animal? Will follow with pics.
I love the look Hobbs, my Vizsla, gives me following my second miss in a row.

I have seen an identical case with Lefever Arms Company embossed on it. I would have had to buy a bad gun to get the case, so I don't own it.

Very interesting. Thank for sharing.
Not to hijack the thread, but what's the gun with the unusual inlay in the tip of the forend? Inlays looks like it could be ivory or mother of pearl. Looks like it also has an unusual inlay on the stock.

OWD, thats a square peg in a round hole gun! That is my Mark Larson custom Maquelier 16 hammer gun. That is a fleur d' lis in goldleaf on the horn tip of the forend. My initials in goldleaf on the stock. There is a portrait of my long since passed Setter "Freckles" on one side of the stock, and a portrait of my current hunting partner, a Vizsla, " Hobbs" on the other side.....i will send a couple of pics....definitely a "repurposed" custom gun, but in my opinion stunningly beautiful. Mark Larson does really fine stockwork, and the metal work on this gun with 30" barrels is fabulous....a true pleasure to look at, and to shoot. In fact that is the gun im holding in my avatar as well....shooting doves from my back porch!
