I was going to attend the Vintage Cup several years ago, but when I added up what my fees were I backed out. I think some of these SxS shoots are highly profitable for the organizations throwing them. I used to shoot a lot of registered FITASC which is the most expensive registered shooting you can do. Lots of machines, lots of area required and it takes a long time to shoot. It's around a dollar a target. SxS shoots are several dollars a target for regular sporting clays, often league targets. I'm going to Medford because that's where the SxS are. But, you could win a gun! Yes, the 7 people who win a gun get a great deal. The other 120 of us don't. Option B is not getting to hang out with SxS people. You should come to the 16 gauge shoot we have in Minnesota. This year it was $50 for 125 targets, lunch and door prizes. We do this with the club breaking even to give everyone a break, promote our club and to have fun! We get some new members from it and others come to shoot there more often, so the club wins in the long run. I try not to think about the cost of these SxS shoots and just have fun. This year I'm more concerned about what I may spend with the vendors!

Jeff
