I still think the line engraving (NOT the stippled background) looks like it was chased with a pneumatic graver. The lines cut are obviously 'stuttered'.
The "stutters" are caused by the hammer blows to the chisel and are quite original. If the scrolls had been cut with a modern pneumatic powered engraver, the lines would be smooth and bright since the air tool delivers many more blows "per second" than a human hand can accomplish.
You are incorrect, regardless of your opinion.
