I remember meeting Russ and thinking "What a gentle human being." after knowing from his posts that he was a tough nut. The contrast fooled me!~)
He was a tough nut, but he cracked:

*whips at fools (curmudgeon!~)
*open to reveal a kind heart

I met Russ at the big Tulsa show several years ago. We hit off just like that. He gave me sage advice on several guns that I bought and always liked to prod me about what "treasures" I had found at the local pawn shops. He will be sorely missed. May God grant comfort to the family.
