looks like the wood is messed up behind top tang [patched??]....also checkering on right side close to the damage behind top tang doesn't look right...sure it can be made right...but for sure a price negotiating point.. still a nice looking double...

Priced low enough and the gun is good enough to re-stock in some nice Turkish walnut.

yea it would make a nice project gun with some wiggling on the price....and if the wood is still solid in the wrist a nice loaner gun just the way it is....

Priced low enough and the gun is good enough to re-stock in some nice Turkish walnut. $2500 plus restock for a Francotte 12ga without ejectors? I know of a nice 25E--higher grade, with ejectors, 28" barrels, about 2 ounces heavier--with a price tag of $3800. Good dimensions, condition, etc. I'd jump on that one before I'd buy this one and then restock it. Just my way of comparing the two.

All that gun needs is a good Dennis Earl Smith or Brian Dudley wood refinish and pad installation. JR

Larry, you and John are a bunch of cheapskates. Heck you both probably still have the money you got from your grandmother when you graduated from high school.

Just doing comparison shopping, trebling. If you'd turn down a very nice 25E, with 28" barrels which is a bump in price on the current market and which has a stock with good, shootable dimensions at less than $4K in favor of an 18 without ejectors and talk about restocking it . . . well, it makes me glad there are guys like you buying guns. Leaves better deals for me to chase.
