Here it is...  imo those are indeed cyanide colors. Doesn't mean they aren't correct dependent on exactly when the gun was made. Do you have a date when it was made?

According to serial number date of production would be 1909/10. Colors must be redone...Geo

Fox went to cyanide in around 1918-19 I believe. Here is a good example of Fox bone charcoal case coloring from a 1913 gun. It has the "oil on water" effect of that process.

Yes, just a smudge of "Del Grecoish style" often referred to as enhanced case-color to make gun more desirable to bright eyed young laddie looking for fine American classic.

The odd thing is the wood: It looks untouched (except for the pad).
And that blueing looks pretty right, too.

I do not believe it was torched, but either a poor charcoal job or something else weird.
I have done some charcoal case hardening and I am guessing that the packing was too loose or some strange charcoal mixture
