I would be embarrassed to own either of those two guns. An embarrassment of riches that is. Number one restored is my guess but it is just that. If you told me they both were original I'd believe that as well. They both look so nice I don't care if one is redone or not. They just look "correct" and is that not the purpose to restore a gun to make it look right. Refinish makes it shiny, restore makes it look like it came from the factory to as much as possible.

The pins on #1 look new and bright. The pins on #2 look more worn. I vote #1 is restored and #2 is OE. The checkering on #1 looks more sharp as well.

I'm going to say #1 is restored - the case colors are, what, too homogenous for a high condition Ithaca? The gold plate on #2 triggers appears to have seen some use.
