We have had Umberto (sp?), Pietro(sp?), and Vincenzo Bernardelli shotguns. Vincenzo has been recognized as the preferred maker. Looking it now appears there is a "new" V. Bernardelli c ompany operating and making SxSs. Gamecock is/was a model. Friend had one, exquisite little gun IMO.

Sloan's came along as an importer after Stoeger, so that's an older gun, made in Italy. The Turks have since acquired Bernardelli, but this isn't one of the new guns they've produced under the Bernardelli name--if, in fact, they've actually produced any. I've seen a catalog, but have yet to see a Turkish-made Bernardelli.

Umberto/Uberto was a model name. Never heard of Umberto/Uberto as a gun-making company. Vincenzo is the most common one. The Pietro guns were cheaper. I remember them being advertised for $5-600 in Gun List. The other Bernardelli company was L. Santina.

You are correct. Should have said Santina not Umberto.

Warshal's in Seattle was also a VB importer. They had new VBs in stock in the mid-90s with their own stamp on the barrels.
