I remember getting 10 packs of Bismuth Cartridge Company 1&1/8oz upland loads on sale for $13 per pack about 15 years ago. That is excellent price. It will work nicely in my WWII vintage Ithaca 37 with full choke barrel. Thirteen hundred fifty feet per second with 1&1/8oz will be very effective load if it patterns nicely. Will have to throw on "instant" Limbsaver pad from Walmart on the gun though. Thank you.

Wouldn't the recoil be pretty stout & and harsh on old wood?...that's pretty fast. franc You know your guns. Well used old field grade Ithaca 37s almost always have hairline cracks at back of trigger guard or on either side of head of stock. Another well known bunch of cracker wood guns were old field grade L.C. Smith shotguns. Late 60s Marlin made guns had modifications around side plates to prevent wood cracking. Sadly fewer than 3000 pieces were made.

The twenties sound like a good deal. In fact, they sound like better than a good deal. I'm thinking "My 32" #2 frame 20".

Over dekes that 20 gauge load with the right gun would be awesome. Not a duck made that can take a one ounce load of number 4's at circa 30 yards and keep going.

I wish we could have ammo shipped to NY. I would really like a few boxes of 20's.
