I'm pretty sure it was the 60's before plastic wads showed up on this side of the pond. I'd guess the French were likely behind us in adopting that innovation.

Nice find! Especially with 25.5" barrels! Here is another R10 or 'Bird Hunter' as Stoeger termed the R10 along with the 16 R11 Bruchet Darne you had made for me. I only retain the 16. " but, the right one hasn't come along yet" When I pass, maybe my wife will sell it to you for your final Darne!-Dick

Dick, That R11 was very nice indeed, but, it was set up for a right handed individual, which, I am not. As far as I know, that is the only single double trigger Darne that escaped Europe. Something else to keep in mind is only US customers could buy an R11-people in Europe didn't have the choices we did, here. Use it in good health, I hope the notion of your passing is quite premature.
Best, Ted

Larry, The flats of my V19 indicate 14mm bore, .551. Unless .001 counts as a backbore, it is very close to being .550, or, standard 28 gauge bore. Chokes on this gun are about .009 and .019. Marked mod and full in English on the box and proof certificate, maybe more like mod and imp mod in real life. My 12 has had some tampering with the bore, but, was marked 18.2 on both barrels when it was proofed. Best, Ted
