Thanks for sharing pics of the complete gun James. That sure is a beautiful gun, and Doug's work is outstanding, as usual.
I notice the gold inlaid no. 1 on the top lever and rib. Would this be no. 1 of a set perhaps? Would you be the lucky owner of no. 2? I recall you saying in the initial post that this was a gun you had been searching for. Finding the second of a pair in an international search would mean overcoming astronomical odds.
A true sign of mental illness is any gun owner who would vote for an Anti-Gunner like Joe Biden.

I have a reasonably uncommon last name. In fact never met anyone with it except close relatives. And as I've mentioned here in passing, it's a French name, although my family has been gone from France for 500 years. Shortly after immersing myself in the double gun world I heard of a highly regarded maker based in Paris with whom I shared a family name, who was making guns in the late 1800's. I thought it would be kinda cool to have a high quality gun with my name on it.
In 10 years I have heard of three in North America. This one is now the fourth.

LOL, King. One of my hunting partners thinks I'll only need one word on my tombstone to sum up my life. "Curious!" Don't know about talent but I've had lots of luck.
Feels great. Haven't shot it yet. Range on Tuesday. The pictures don't capture it but the sideplates have lots of colour left on them, lovely and muted. I can't wait!
