DrRevDrew,
Good morning.
We haven't talked in a while. Thank you for the detailed info. I trust all is well with you?

Just what the patient ordered! <9k is GTG. Did you see the weight on the 16ga.? 5lbs 13oz. Can't wait to handle it.

Do I dare ask what a ditch parrot festival is?

Best,
Bill

I owned a sidelock Ory & Duqueene SxS 16 gauge awhile back. Very nice. Eventually sold it. Here are some snap shots.

Capital effort there Drew, oh how I fancy it. You must have gotten that image from my hunting companions. I still have the car with some 700k miles on it. Daily driver. Now I have had setters all my youth & I pulled my fair share of Cockleburs(Xanthium). A few years back I was blessed with a Tri-colour Belton Llewellin that was just a gem. Few critters escaped her and Purdey below. GSP will bring home the bacon though.

Mornings(2014) haul for several miles.

Kind Regards,

Appreciate the effort: Sigismondo Corte Genova

"Corte Sigismondo, Genova, azzaliniere e archibugiaro, met del XIX secolo. La firma Sigismondo Corte compare sull'acciarino sinistro a percussione e molla avanti e la dizione in Genova sull'acciarino destro di un fucile c. 1845 a due canne giustapposte(Von Morenberg 2006a)."

Rossini's 1814 opera Sigismondo?!? No, certainly not, but I don't speak Italian, so please translate for me, thanks. "Corte" is "Court".....

In the second picture posted, the barrels are marked Choke 16.9. 16.9=.665 which I assume would be nominal bore size. After 1924 how do you know what the choke is? Do the markings indicate cyl/cyl? I wouldn't think so. I don't have the gun in hand yet so there may be additional markings not seen in the pic.

Edit
Figured it out.(I think)
After 1924
"Diameter of choked bore no longer indicated"
