Update on new pup originally posted July 22, 2015:
I took my youngest son (14) and Mollie (5 months on the nose) to get a taste of some real birds. I worked the dog and my son gunned. It was his first time bird hunting and Mollies first time as well.
My son shot his first bird ever and it was also Mollies first kill that she retrieved. Both performed flawlessly. He used a Ruger red Label 20 Ga. and missed with the first barrel at about 25 yards and I told him to shoot again (he was a little surprised by the whole thing since it was his first flush) and he nailed the pheasant clean at 40 yards or so. Dead in the air. Mollie was on the bird in no time and she did a beautiful retrieve, no fumbling, no half the bird out of her mouth. He also got one Chukar which she also did a great job on. The days we live for!!
