Ive seen one 25R that had a prison name stamped on it and a double digit rack number that indicated that it had seen LEA issue.

And I was told that a number of banks issued them as guard arms back in the day. SUSPECT that accounted for the sling swivels and stouter carbine sights--Remington was trying to get them a security or LEA market.

Don't know how successful they were, but most private security and even some trained pros could probably do a lot more damage with a 25R in .32-20 than they could with any sidearm! Perfect to partner with a .32-20 revolver, too, and there were plenty of those carried by country cops in the 'teens and twenties and even after.

The big problem with 25s of all formats is that once a guy gets one, only death do them part....
