Because of your warm welcome to your forum, I thought to post a pics of a few other shotguns I have in my possession. This one is a 20 gauge, Belgian made by Rerle. It has 26" barrels and 3" chambers. I have not been able to find much information about the maker. Your comments and info are welcome. BillK

Very nice!

Looks similar (but not identical) to a Francotte 28b I once owned.

I just took a few more pics of the barrel flats and the water table. I assumed the number 75 on the barrel flat meant 75 chambers = 3" chambers. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thank you in advance, BillK

I see on the action flats that it looks like it was proofed with EC No. 3 powder at some stage. Interesting that it has stood the 3" proof test. I would still stick to the standard 2 1/2" cartridges to prevent being kicked to kingdom come though. Lagopus.....

I don't think the S and T indicate the powder used for proof. I read them as standard Belgian inspector's marks.

The shot and powder markings on the barrels forward of the flats indicate a gun initially proofed between 1897-1903. The choke mark, also forward of the flats with one number over another, came along later (1910-24). Perhaps a reproof at that time. Although unusual to find a 3" 20ga back then.
