That's a nice gun, Kem. Unusual to find a 28" with IC/mod. Rare, I'm guessing. I hope you shoot it well. Sometime, you must tell us what birds you intend to hunt where you live.

A dear friend that passed away last December collected all the configurations that were offered in both 12 and 20 gauges. The Browning people knew him and greeted him at the big shows. He had all of these guns stocked to his measurements and to his godson who was to inherit his collection and did.

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember that the BSS-SLE was made in Belgium.

This one is Japanese. There is a later version, usually case colored, that was done in Belgium, by Lebeau. People ask a lot more money for them, but, I don't think they are a lot more gun: http://www.gunsinternational.com/guns-fo...un_id=100597051When I was in France, I handled two, used, Japanese Browning sidelocks, that were fitted with sling swivels. I don't recall if they had the "Made in Japan" line on the barrel, but, every one I've seen stateside, does. Best, Ted

Thanks Kem. Partridge? Quail? What species of partridge and what species of quail do you have in Cyprus? Do you have a bird dog? Your Browning BSS sidelock should be perfect for you.
