I wrote down the markings so would remember them all intending to start a post asking about this gun, then when this thread came up, just added it on. Markings were New Baker on left frame side. On right frame side was Syracuse Forging & Gun Co on one line & on another line below that Syracuse N Y. From your info looks like this one was built Before the Fire. Thus would appear to be after Oct 4 '87 but prior to mid 1889. Close enough.
