XAUSA, You have me thinking, I might stop and re-make the bracket to incorporate the shield. If you find your pictures I would enjoy seeing them. It will take some re-design but that's part of the fun. (Since I don't have a project waiting for this there isn't any pressure)

Is this it? That's it! Thanks for supplying the image. I hadn't been able to find mine.

My son and I launched some new camera mounting products for our company in time for the start of the holiday shopping season so haven't had time for a few days to work on the project, but today I got after it and made good progress. How do you like the "Roy Dunlap" shield?

How do you like the "Roy Dunlap" shield? It looks just as effective as the original.

I doesn't look very good to me. You spoiled the looks of a Model 70. Nothing wrong with a Lyman 48 receiver sight

Thanks, it is so great to see things go from the CAD drawings, which are impressive to the machined result. I am looking forward to see how things go with the final polish and how it looks on a rifle.

Fred, should be done in a couple days or so. I polished the bracket after work tonight now just need to polish the trunnion, make the pivot shaft and then drill the bolt sleeve.
