I doesn't look very good to me. You spoiled the looks of a Model 70. Nothing wrong with a Lyman 48 receiver sight Dear Buck Hunter, LRF is proceeding thoughtfully, until he actually drills and taps the bolt sleeve, he has not done anything to his Model 70. He can glue on the piece with crazy glue and then decide whether he likes the look of it or not. The look of it, should be based on how the entire rifle looks, not on an individual part. Fred

Wait for the finished product. I suspect it will look every bit as classic as a 48 will. To be able to take a part of a Lyman sight that was surplus unless someone had a base; repurpose it and design, modify and improve a base from scratch is fantastic. I seriously doubt anyone who frequents this forum is going to cobble up something and bolt it to a Win 70 that isn't esthetically pleasing.
Looking good, I hope we see the polished/finished product soon.

I like the sight. There are a couple of areas I'd prefer a radius or a chamfer but that's just my preference. Super job Lynn!

The elevation adjustment on the sight looks like a Parker Hale. I don't remember ever seeing a Lyman with numbered graduations on the elevation sleeve. Lymans are pretty unsophisticated and this one is anything but.

There are a couple of areas I'd prefer a radius or a chamfer Ken, please elaborate, hell I am open to suggestions. What you are looking at is just my minds eye, not the last word. There are no sharp sharp edges. All edges have a machined or filed on chamfer in the final polished parts.

Its not Lyman, I only said it was Ken sent it to me as he had no use for it. If its a Parker Hale then that mystery is answered. All I care is that it works and it does that quite well.
