Any suggestions on how to tighten one of these? The barrels are slightly off face and there is no hinge pin to replace, its more of a lug built into the mechanism,

Can you share a picture or two? If it is the action I am thinking of the underlug acts as a large wedge.

Boy that is a new design on me. Looks like what would be the hinge pin rotates with the barrels. I would start with some slips of paper on the hook and see what that does. A very poor design.....

I believe they refer to it as a Lefaucheux action shotgun developed about 1830 by a Frenchman named Casmir Lefaucheux. I have a few Husqvarna shotguns with this action. Unfortunately I haven't needed to tighten up one of these actions before so I can't help in that area. I will do some searching and see what I can find...

A slip of .010 card stock seems to have tightened up things quite nicely. I think I'll get a metal shim a few thousands thicker and the refit the barrels to the face.

That's an old gun . I Have some concern as to the soundness of the lump unless its just the angle of the photo .
Was it a pin fire originally?
