Six months in salt water, the A5 and my 12ga Fox SW are now in a barrel of fresh water. We were lucky: hit the tide just right and the visibility four metres off the bottom was 50 feet---and the temperature 50 degrees.
My A5 buddy shoved in two shells and fired, both ejecting normally. All my Fox parts seem to be functioning, the barrels look good, and the wood is only a little proud at the buttplate. Nick Makinson in Komoko, Ontario, will do the Fox.
I hope to salvage TM from my Kent 2 1/2-inch No. 5s and bismuth from my handloads. My Watson and Baker 7 X 35 binoculars, my first purchase as a reporter 60 years ago, don't look good.
