LRF,
I have some drawings in my gunroom in the basement, but we are getting ready for a family Christmas for lunch, so It may be a while before I can pull them out. Without checking the precise measurements, I think the front part matches pretty closely the 358 Norma. This makes sense, considering when they were developed. The first time I met Gene, in 1969, he told me about this cartridge, and told me the idea came to him in a dream. Maybe the newly introduced 358 Norma was on his mind. Gene was a shooter and was Commander of the Marksmanship Training Unit when I met him, he always preferred long barrels, because of this. I believe that is why he achieved over 3000fps( actual chronograph readings.no "corrections" for muzzle vel, elevation, rounding off, or anything), while others did not. I am curious of the barrel length of the 35 Zimmerman test rifle, do you know this? If you will PM me your mailing address, I will send you photocopies of the report of the initial test demonstration, cartridge drawings, testing reports for the bullets, loading data and other promotional material.
