To modify a new gun is way outside my comfort curve.

If you want a 687 SP II that weighs 6 ounces lighter than
6 lbs 2 oz then call the Beretta Rep and tell him or her
and get what you want.

Just do not take one "off the shelf", it may take some discussions with Beretta, but can be done. Tell them you are
a Beretta fella and what you have and want to still be
part of their team smile

You may end up with an SP III, I do not know if you can still get new SP IIs
