I've wondered about the Shelhamer numbering system myself as I understood he generally made less than a dozen complete stocks annually. Given his 40 plus years, one struggles then to understand how numbers in the 1100's could come about. I do know he had a ledger book and recorded all his work which included checkering jobs, repairs and modifications so I've questioned whether this could explain what appears to be a significant difference. If someone could shed light on this I would certainly appreciate it.
