Der Ami thanks for the thought. Have you seen a pinfire design that can use smokeless powder ? It is my understanding that the percussion caps will not ignite smokeless efficiently. I have yet to think up a design to hold a 209 primer or other smokeless powder primers.I currently make my pinfire shot shells out of custom brass cases and it works pretty well. I do have about 200 28 ga empty paper pinfire cases. It looks like if these are cut down to about 1 1/2" that they will work in the rifle chamber. Then the only problem is loading and possibly crimping the cases to hold the projectile. I think I would prefer to make custom brass cases and not use up the 150 year old paper cases.
