This is an interesting comment from someone from Brazil about their gun laws. Man, can you believe brasil is a lot qorse (worse)? Im expecting my permit to but for about 6 months, cant carry, if you want to go out and be a Hunter or Sport shooter you must ask for The permit at The Army office and then wait about a year for The permit. What a shame. To think about The guy up north

What a shame. To think about The guy up north Well, that only shows no matter how bad you think things are, someone's got it worse. I've also heard that (at least some states of) Brazil banned all kinds of hunting, and they were expecting all sorts of problems with wildlife getting out of control.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the book when it is compelte. My knowledge of high-end Russian shotguns is minimal, but I was impressed by the Matska sidelock Bill Wise owned when I handled it.
Quick question: Your blog states that of the 100 or so known MT-9s, all were made as trap guns. The gun pictured looks to be very nicely engraved, to include game scenes - not something I was expecting to see on a trap gun. Is the gun pictured in the top photos an MT-9, or one of the higher grade MT-10s or MT-11s? The engraving is throwing me off as I normally associate game scene engraving with a hunting gun. Great looking guns BTW.

Ken, thank you. As for your question, all pictured guns are MTs-9. What I meant is that in TsKIB's book MTs-9 was a Trap gun, so it came with 750 mm barrels, "4" and "5" chokes, period. Even if you ordered one for hunting or as a gift - as most customers seemed to do - you couldn't get a different barrel length or chokes. Unless, perhaps, you had the connections. On the other hand, engraving was an option, so it was negotiable. That's how I see it, of course. Igor Robertovich will correct me if I'm wrong.
UPD. But generally speaking, Russian gunmakers never had a hard and fast rule about the match between engraving and the intended purpose of the gun. Probably because we never really followed the "different game, different gun" philosophy; a Russian hunting shotgun is one gun that you use on anything from snipe to bear with some clays on the side. So the appearance of a game scene on a Trap gun wouldn't surprize me.

made any 8-bore or 4-bore doubles for the Wildfowlers?If so which
