I never use any solvent that will attack lead. Every set of barrels I've seen wit loose ribs was coming apart at the muzzle and the lead/tin solder was deteriorated. I just use a thin oil and brush and patches.
I made mention of that in a previous thread about loose ribs and was quickly told that I didn't know jAck ....
