The Yildiz Elegante also has some sort of lightweight alloy receiver. That contributes to the above average shoot-ability of such a lightweight gun ....... that and concentrating more of the overall weight nearer the ends of the gun. For a very small and lightweight gun, it handles almost like a 6#+ game gun. Indeed, Rocketman's numbers for it were very surprising when he spun it several years ago. When trying to make a longer, heavier gun handle livelier the maker does just the opposite, and tries to concentrate the mass nearer the center, with less on each end.

Here's a "go figure." Check out the wood on this $129.95 Yildiz single-shot .410. Then look at the wood on a CZ Bobwhite costing 7-8x more. Why in the land of great walnut does CZ use such bland wood? It couldn't be that great a cost savings.

GLS, i think walnut is getting more scarce and therefore more expensive, a close friend bought a miroku sporter brand new recently, and while the metalwork is truly excellent, the wood is the most bland plank i have ever seen, and the miroku is not a cheap gun.

SRH Thats where most of the good stuff is sourced now, even purdey's stopped using french walnut and went with turkish.

My main complaint with the cz shotguns has been that 90% of ones I have observed with the chemically induced fake case coloring on the receiver have had a significant rust problem on the receivers...the dickensons do not appear to suffer that, but to my eye seem to have a clear coat.

The Dickinson guns have true bone charcoal case hardening, and mine looks to have a protective coating, as you said. Beautiful colors, too. SRH
