I've looked in my Greener book for references to Brazier and the only one mentioned is in the early days making percussion locks.
I have a privately published book on Staffordshire lock and gun part makers and there are no less than ten Braziers listed so it seems that it was part of a gun part making dynasty. Technically the name is still going under Joseph Brazier. What is the serial number of your gun and then I may be able to date it for you. This may be a good place to start
