....Nothing has yet changed as a result of the Presidents Order. That Order is not Law but direction to Agencies.... On the Whitehouse's website, there's a 4 January 2016 briefing by the press secretary that ends with the President directing publication as a Presidential Memoranda. There's a corresponding publication under the Memoranda section. My understanding, once a Presidential Memoranda is published, it can carry the weight of law, if desired. The direction given to particular agencies seems vague. Maybe nothing has changed yet, but the legal ability for some change seems to have been put into place.

That Order is not Law but direction to Agencies. Bob Jurewicz
Exactly Bob, it is a direction to Federal agencies. We don't know the final outcome yet. All we know for certain is that Obama is and always has been 100% anti-gun. And Hillary has been very forthcoming with her anti-gun beliefs. Even if this was a political debate forum, those are facts, and not a subject for debate. And the link you posted is not the law either. It is "guidelines" that have been criticized for being so vague ever since the GCA of 1968 was passed. If you ever get arrested for being "engaged in the business" even though you think you are in compliance with the spirit of the law, no-one will pay for your criminal defense except you. What do you think will be the threshold for a legal number of gun transfers to be considered an unlicensed dealer under Hillary Clinton? If your case ever advanced to the Supreme Court on appeal, assuming you could afford the legal costs, how do you think it would go for you if Obama or Hillary gets to add one or more anti-gun Justices to the Supreme Court? We already know what Obama's intentions were when he and Biden pushed the failed 2013 U.S. Senate Manchin-Toomey Bill. In Obama's Jan. 5th speech, he said, "The United States of America is not the only country on Earth with violent or dangerous people. We are not inherently more prone to violence. But we are the only advanced country on Earth that sees this kind of mass violence erupt with this kind of frequency. It doesn't happen in other advanced countries. Its not even close." This is just one of many outright lies in that speech. He also stated that a violent felon can buy a gun over the Internet with no Background Check, and that the vast majority of gun owners and NRA members support Universal Background checks. The U.S. has over 300 million guns and a 2012 murder rate of 4.7 per 100,000. Russia has only 13 million guns, and a 2012 murder rate of 9.2 per 100,000. So we in the U.S. have over 23 times as many guns as Russia, and a murder rate about half as high. There's some serious mass violence, and Russia's murder rate is still lower than a lot of other advanced nations with Western style societies. It would seem that the problem is cultural rather than due to the availability of guns.
The NRA has proven itself unreliable and corrupt. Period.

Thank you Keith: These charts should be permanently pinned as a reference on this forum and all gun forums. Jim

Yes. Greenland only has about 57,000 inhabitants, and they had 11 homicides in 2009 which worked out to a homicide rate of 19.4 per 100,000. Here's a link with global homicide rates. It kinda shoots a lot of holes in what the anti-gun Liberal Democrats have been telling you. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rateClicking on the little arrows at the top of the Rate Column will put them in numerical order. When people are intent on killing their fellow man, the presence of a firearm doesn't make a lot of difference. Until jet airplanes and box cutters were used to kill 2998 people on 9-11, the worst mass murder in U.S. history was in 1990 at the Happy Land Dance Club where the killer used a dollars worth of gasoline and matches to kill 87 people. The worst mass school killing in the U.S. happened in Bath, Michigan in 1927 when a bomber killed 41 people. 500 lbs. of dynamite he set in another part of the school failed to detonate or it would have been much worse. How many kids died today from heroin overdoses because Obama won't build a wall or allow the U.S. Border Patrol to do its' job?

This mornings local paper had an article concerning a murder using the lid off a toilet tank. Imagine that the toilet manufacturers will have to replace them with lightweight plastic ones.
I learn something every day, and a lot of times it's that what I learned the day before was wrong

Imagine if we couldn't buy toilets anymore because the manufacturers or dealers won't risk new liability lawsuits. I suppose they might still be around, but much more expensive. Could end up controlling the number of toilets out there.

Dr. John Bodkin Adams, covered his trial at Old Bailey in, I think, spring 1957. Avuncular, slow-moving, maybe double chin, you'd think he couldn't kill a fly.

I watched the motorcade required to take Obama from White House to Supreme Court to pay respects to Supreme Court Justice Scalia. There were enough black SUVs in that convoy to carry an Infantry Company. Couple of them were probably carrying pop up mini guns. The Secret Service keeps expanding the security details and has now reached a ridiculous level. Probably had helicopter gunships standing by too. We clearly have enough replacements for a president available, cut back the overkill on the security detachments. What happens when the palace guards kill the Emperor. By the way, why does the VP have a secret service detachment too. We have never had a VP assassinated. Let Biden defend himself with his shotgun.
